Today's Hoot: Nick Nolte To Play Hillary Clinton In New Movie

Dixon Diaz has the scoop:

Nolte’s “remarkable resemblance” to the former First Lady was cited by insiders as the reason.

I've noticed that myself.

The Egyptian people demonstrate how the Fourth of July should be celebrated

Overthrow an overweening thuggish dictator, then shoot off fireworks and cheer.

In the USA we have the second part down pat, but seem to have forgotten the first part.

As for our Fairy Prince, Obama ruined the holiday by returning from his $100 million family vacation in Africa. Of course, if he had stayed longer and told more preposterous falsehoods and did more promotion of unnatural acts, we would have no friends left in Africa anymore. We certainly have none in Egypt.

Memorial Day 2013

We can never thank enough all the American patriots who gave and will give their lives to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic."

Today's Hoot: Weiner Enlarging Staff for Mayoral Run

Brietbart's William Bigelow couldn't resist:

Weiner Enlarging Staff for Mayoral Run

...

Two sources said that they couldn’t tell Politico the staffer’s name or what position he/she will assume under the former Congressman.

...

There isn’t much time left for Weiner to decide, because petitioning for listing on the ballot begins in early June. In order to obtain the necessary number of signatures, he’ll need a staff larger than the one he has now. However, it seems Weiner’s position is hardening.

Hmmm, who's paying for this effort in self gratification?

The perfect symbol of our capital city – a hideous airborne turtle with ten tits

While the "Skywhale" seems a prefect representation of the bloated and beastly Obama administration, I'm afraid that the Australians have beat us to it.

The good news for us is that Australian taxpayer dollars did not buy the monstrosity, they just rented it. When can US taxpayers expect to see it hovering over the White House? I bet Michelle Obama is on the phone right now and Jay Carney is already working on the talking points.

Gang of Eight Laughs It Up Over Plan to Bring More Terrorists and Deadbeats to the USA

Gang of Eight laughs while America suffers

The buffoonish Senators in the so-called Gang of Eight got together for a jocular introduction of their grand immigration plan last week. I guess they have been so busy that they hadn't been keeping up with current events in Boston:

Boston-Marathon-bombing

Take it away Howie Carr:

So once again, no good deed goes unpunished.

Uncle Sam lets another bunch of leeching future terrorists into the country who have absolutely no business being here, gives them “asylum,” making them immediately eligible for welfare, and this is the thanks we get?

They turn into mass murderers.

We bring in thousands of Muslims from a primitive society that has been battling Christians for centuries, and put them into a peaceful Christian society — what could possible go wrong?

This is what I was thinking about yesterday, with much of the city under what amounted to martial law. Once more, law-abiding American citizens were paying the price for the insane immigration policies that have so damaged this society in recent years.

You can see the decay everywhere — in the emergency rooms, in the courts, in the welfare offices and, yes, in the epidemic of senseless murders.

And also at places as mundane as grocery or big box stores where the "guests in our country" crowd in to pick up their loot with their EBT cards and the post office where they mail some of it to their real homes in a foreign land.

But please, before the Kool-Aid drinkers in the Senate try to get amnesty for at least 12 million undocumented Democrats, can somebody please consider how many more of these Dzhokhar Tsarnaevs we really need?

A better question: How many of these jihadist “refugees” can we as a society survive?

Look at the chaos and the tragedy these Chechens have inflicted on the people of Boston this week. Who asked them to come here? What exactly do they contribute to the culture? They have had everything — absolutely everything — handed to them.

Obviously, no other country in the world wanted these sharia-crazed Stone Age Muslim terrorists.

Only the out-of-touch Washington elite could possibly believe that American taxpayers have so much spare cash and unfilled unskilled jobs that they want to import more primitive poor people from around the world and install them in the spare bedroom with a pocketful of walking around money. We have done way too much of that already and as that great philosopher Jeremiah Wright might say, "America's Chechens have come home to roost."

Margaret Thatcher RIP

They were giants in those days:
Ronald Reagan died just one day after President Bush bestowed the Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, on Pope John Paul II for his heroic efforts to topple communism. Those two men, together with Margaret Thatcher, deserve much of the credit for the West's success in the Cold War.

As the nation mourns Ronald Reagan we should also pause to reflect that in the space of 27 months between 1978 and 1981 three such extraordinary leaders--each with the belief that evil must be confronted--should have come to power. Together they changed the world.

John Fund, June 7, 2004

Speaking of confronting evil, watch as Mrs. Thatcher stomps a roach of the domestic variety:

Obama the Great Shooter

Clown Prince Obama is telling folks that he goes shooting all the time. Of course he really meant "bull shooting" as Drudge illustrates:

Who knew that you needed luggage for your wine bottles?

Yeah, the USA is flat broke with no reprieve in sight, but the citizens are making do as they have always have. Around here farming in the recent past had been devoted to tobacco, cotton, and soy beans with a few other odds and ends thrown in, but the 2004 Tobacco Buyout has changed that into a very limited and specialized business, cotton has always been tough, and soybeans seem to be grown everywhere. As a result, a lot of the family farmers have been trying new things. Southern grape varieties grow here like weeds, so a number of the old family farms have converted some acreage to vineyards and little wineries are popping up.

I was reminded of this by a crony who dropped by recently and recounted how his son had built a winery business on the family farm complete with wine tasting, tours, and a gift shop for the city folks. Needless to say we were chafing him a bit about the fancy visitors and he was giving back as good as he got. One of the things he mentioned was that a popular item in the gift shop was wine bags like these:

Wine bag

Now to me a wine bag is brown paper with an open top sticking out, but there seems to be a market for leather cases for folks to carry their fancy wines to parties and picnics and BYOB restaurants. While that wouldn't go over too well down the road at Ma's Diner, there are apparently high class city eateries that welcome this sort of thing. Of course, I had to suggest that if you were really worried about your wine bottle breaking you could just get Wine-in-a-Box.

The good news is that I guess the Obama regime hasn't entirely stamped out simple pleasures and luxuries or basic American ingenuity. I just hope that continues because the current mess is going to require a massive clean-up when it all falls down.

You don't have to be a talking hairdo like David Gregory to be exempt from DC gun laws!

Just get your David Gregory mask and you won't be bothered.
David Gregory Concealed Carry Gun Passes
Hey, you always wanted phony eyebrows and an artfully arranged forelock like Gregory's anyhow.
