Zeituni gets another year at the trough

The Aunt Zeituni Hustle be one most powerful mojo dance, mon! Yep, Barack's wetback aunt Zeituni gets another year of taxpayer largesse:
Zeituni Onyango (zay-TUH'-nee awn-YAHN'-goh) had an initial appearance in U.S. Immigration Court in Boston on Wednesday. At the brief hearing, a judge set her case to be heard Feb. 4, 2010.

Onyango was ordered deported in 2004 but has continued to live in public housing in Boston. She wore a curly red wig and said nothing as she was led away from court Wednesday with federal protection.
Nice to hear that Zeituni was all duded up and has "federal protection," but why didn't the taxpayers' money just pay to put her on a plane instead?  Must be the new Obama plan for illegal aliens - ICE releases workers arrested in Washington raid:
SEATTLE – Many of the 28 workers arrested by immigration agents last month in a northwest Washington raid have been released and given permission to work, in another sign of how the Obama administration is handling illegal immigration differently than its predecessor.

The raid at a Yamato Engine Specialists plant in Bellingham was the first mass arrest of immigrants since President Barack Obama took office and appeared to contradict his policy that federal agents focus more on employers who hire undocumented workers than on the workers themselves. Shortly after the arrests, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano ordered a review of the raid.

The Bellingham Herald reported that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement gave the immigrants work permits or the option of returning to their native country.
Cool - get caught and get a work permit or a free trip home. How long before the wetbacks start to line up in front of ICE headquarters? Actually probably not, because Naploitano isn't really interested in catching any more Democrat voters, er illegal aliens anyhow.

Today's Hoot: Obama flubs gift to Queen

Obama's Gift to the Queen
Diplomatic jaws dropped across the continent yesterday when it was revealed that U.S. President Barack Obama had, once again, fumbled a routine protocol of international statecraft: finding the right gift for a foreign leader or head of state. In a private ceremony with Queen Elizabeth, Her Royal Highness bequeathed to the Obamas one of the earliest known copies of William Shakespeare's Henry V. [list of other gifts elided]

The Obamas, unfortunately, did not seem prepared for the occasion despite the row set off by the exchange of gifts between Prime Minister Brown and the U.S. President barely a month ago. Mr. Obama rather unceremoniously handed the Queen a shopping bag from the Duty Free shop at Heathrow airport. It contained a signed paperback copy of Dreams of My Father, purchased at the WH Smith shop at the airport, a bottle of Johnny Walker Scotch (black label), a CD of the Swedish band ABBA's greatest hits (still in shrink wrap with a 2-for-1 sticker on it) and ten bags of M&Ms with the presidential seal on them.

The Queen responded in a rather flat: "How delightful."
Barack should have just stuck with the case of Colt 45 that he had planned to give her:

Gift to Queen Elizabeth from Barack Obama
Meanwhile, The Enquirer got a sneak preview of Michelle's dress for her presentation to the Queen. Classy!

The heartbreak of explosive flatulence

Lenin power fart
Some Russian wags have apparently augmented a famous St. Petersburg statue of Vladimir Lenin with an editorial comment regarding the explosive flatulence which plagued that famous Communist leader (and his followers) for years.

Doing the Aunt Zeituni Hustle

We haven't heard much about Barack Obama's wetback (and illegal campaign contributor) aunt Zeituni lately as she has been hiding out with relatives in Cleveland, but she did surface to party with Ohio Democrats after Bozo Obama's inauguration. (I would observe that any of Aunt Zeituni's relatives are also Barack's relatives and wonder about their immigration status, but why be picky?)

Critics, outraged that she is living in taxpayer-funded public housing while thousands of citizens and legal immigrants are on waiting lists, are scrutinizing the case for political favoritism.
...
Onyango's fate will play out behind closed doors before Judge Leonard Shapiro in Boston. Onyango's lawyer, Margaret Wong of Ohio, successfully argued to reopen her case in December and have the proceedings closed to the public, according to the Executive Office for Immigration Review, which oversees immigration courts.
...
Wong has not responded to repeated requests for comment. But her spokesman told the Cleveland Plain Dealer in January that Onyango would present new evidence to back an asylum claim.
Er, asylum?
Onyango's request is being reconsidered under a little-used provision in U.S. immigration rules that allows denied asylum claims to be reheard if applicants can show that something has changed to make them eligible.

Such as the ascension of her nephew to the presidency of the world's most powerful country.

"If she goes back to Kenya, she is going to be much more in the limelight, and that, in and of itself, could put her at a greater risk. The chances of her going back and keeping a low profile are gone at this point," said Boston immigration attorney Ilana Greenstein.
It's the celebrity asylum defense! Sounds like an open door for the seeming hundreds of other Obama relatives in Kenya. They can move right to the People's Republic of Massachusetts and get on the dole with preferential treatment from Obama pal Deval Patrick's bureaucrats.

Kathleen Sebelius latest Obama tax cheat appointee

There's a reason why Democrats don't mind raising taxes - they don't pay them.
Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius has corrected three years of tax returns and paid more than $7,000 in back taxes after finding "unintentional errors" - the latest tax troubles for an Obama administration nominee. The Kansas governor explained the changes to senators in a letter dated Tuesday that was obtained by The Associated Press. She said they involved charitable contributions, the sale of a home and business expenses.

She and her husband paid a total of $7,040 in back taxes and $878 in interest to amend returns from 2005-2007.
Sounds like the Sibelius family were cheating on just about everything. Obama's appointments are sure turning out to be a windfall for the Treasury. Of course, he could always try to find an honest Democrat politician. Er, never mind.

Barack Obama Anthem

Barack Hussein Obama gets his official anthem (hat tip to Grouchy Old Cripple):

GM Finally Dead, To Be Converted to Zombie by Voodoo Master Obama

General Motors finally died yesterday after a very long illness. I am sad to see it go although I have not bought a GM car since the 70's because of the decline in workmanship from their crack union workforce. I still like GM trucks which I have always found to be steady dependable workhorses, but I always wondered how long that could last. As Mark Steyn observed back in December, GM's condition was terminal:
General Motors now has a market valuation about a third of Bed, Bath And Beyond, and no one says your Swash 700 Elongated Biscuit Toilet Seat Bidet is too big to fail. GM has a market capitalization of just over two billion dollars. For purposes of comparison, Toyota’s market cap is one hundred billion and change (the change being bigger than the whole of GM). General Motors, like the other two geezers of the Old Three, is a vast retirement home with a small loss-making auto subsidiary. The UAW is the AARP in an Edsel: It has three times as many retirees and widows as “workers” (I use the term loosely). GM has 96,000 employees but provides health benefits to a million people.

How do you make that math add up? Not by selling cars: Honda and Nissan make a pre-tax operating profit per vehicle of around 1600 bucks; Ford, Chrysler and GM make a loss of between $500 and $1,500. That’s to say, they lose money on every vehicle they sell. Like Henry Ford said, you can get it in any color as long as it’s red.
Anyhow, GM now will get reanimated as a socialist zombie as Barack Obama brings it back to a sort of shambling life and that may even last for a few years as did the British automobile industry after it was nationalized. Since the only way to kill a zombie is by destroying its brain we can expect GM to finally get its eternal rest when the first political appointees get put in charge and start looting the company like Obama advisor Franklin Raines did at Fannie Mae.
