Larry David dumps the dummy!

Laurie David says she is not fat

Larry David is your typical Hollywood liberal, but even he apparently found his wife's moonbat act hard to take:
Now that he's separated, Larry David is having a laugh at his wife's expense. The "Curb Your Enthusiasm" card said he celebrated the end of his 14-year marriage to eco-activist Laurie David in a way that was sure to upset her. "After the divorce, I went home and turned all the lights on," David told TV critics in LA. A fiercely private guy, David denied that his wife's public war on global warming caused the split. "No, no, no, she's been that way throughout," he said.
Tim Blair suggests that it must have been a long 14 years.
Some of Laurie David's Martha's Vineyard neighbors aren't so thrilled. They contend her lavish lifestyle is at odds with her activism.
The last is in reference to Laurie paving a swamp in order to better entertain her global warming guru, Robert Kennedy Jr. What better indication of terminal clue lack is there than looking to that loser for anything?

Anyhow, it seems that Laurie David has kept spiffing up the Martha's Vineyard mansion to the distress of her neighbors and was apparently having even more work done:
So, anyway, I reported that her closeness with their caretaker, who is also currently divorcing his wife, might constitute a factor. I now know that not even clams open up like people who summer on Martha's Vineyard. The David lawyers should only have as much information as I've freshly been given.

These newly wide-open mouths allege that Missus and the Caretaker have been taking care for a long time. They claim Larry knew nothing since the couple, married about 15 years and with two children, mainly live in California.
What could be more earth-friendly than Laurie and the caretaker taking a few rolls in the compost? Of course, given that it's Laurie, it might be manure.

Stinkfingers says it's all a joke

It looks like the PR folks vigourously applied the clue bat to Sheryl "Stinkfingers" Crow and she now claims her "one sheet wipe" comments were just a joke, but all her other airbrained global warming rantings are for real. Yeah, right.

She also opines that the White House Correspondents Association dinner where she and wacko pal Laurie David tried to mug Karl Rove was somehow "a dinner designed specifically to encourage conversations between people from different worlds." When Stinkfingers says "different worlds," she really means different planets. Anyhow, Fake Steve Jobs again gets the best line:

I'm no fan of Karl Rove, but honestly if this ditz and Larry David's greentard wife started hassling me during dinner and lecturing me about "science," I'd tell them to get stuffed too.

Who let the crazy bimbos in?

When Barbra Streisand isn't in the room, it's sort of a tough choice as to who's the dumbest ecoweenie in show biz, but two prime contenders have to be Sheryl Crow and Laurie David. Last week they took their act to the White House Correspondents Dinner and tried to mug Karl Rove who thankfully delivered the requisite spanking. They really look like they rode their bicycles over don't they?

Laurie David and Sheryl Crow, the Global Warming airheads

I don't know about you, but I sure think it's swell that a couple of high maintenance bimbos like these two are touring the country telling folks that using only one sheet of toilet paper and wiping their mouths on their sleeves during dinner will prevent global warming. Aside from the novelty of their bizarre nostrums, there's a lot of unintended humor as well:

David (4/20, Charlottesville): Sheryl couldn't be with me tonight because of a previous commitment [Crow traveled to New York for a show that wasn't part of the tour] but luckily rock stars have rock star friends

I guess it makes sense to her and I'm sure ole Sheryl rode her bicycle up to New York and back. Lear jet anyone? Continuing for the best part:

Tonight, I spoke outside the gorgeous Charlottesville pavilion, in front of a couple of thousand slightly inebriated college men (there to see the wonderful Robert Randolph and the Family Band) who were forced to sit through the opening act . . . me. Truly, it was one of the most challenging 20 minutes of my life. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw guys yawning, I heard kids saying "where's the music?" and I think I heard the "b" word. I rushed through the speech and when I walked off the stage I immediately burst into tears. Not because I took anything personally but because it was so clear how much work is still to be done. Tonight served as a stark reminder that social change is a journey and I learned tonight that not every stop is going to be easy.

Don't let the door hit your unwiped global warmer on the way out, biatch.

You can always count on the lefties when the going gets tough

Don’t Fight the Terrorists - Fight the Weather!:
It’s a peculiar thing that as the threat of global terrorism reaches a crescendo, so apparently does the threat of global warming—at least that’s what some would have us believe.

Tough, national-security language is borrowed from the former and applied to the latter to make the case: "I really consider this a national security issue,” celebrity activist and “An Inconvenient Truth” producer Laurie David said, and hoped the film would serve as a “wake-up call.”

“Truth” star Al Gore calls global warming a “planetary emergency” and speaks of a clash between “civilization and the planet.”

Likewise, Bill Clinton’s “first worry” is climate change. “It’s the only thing that I believe has the power to fundamentally end the march of civilization as we know it,” the reputedly intelligent ex-president told a World Economic Forum audience earlier this year. Leonardo DiCaprio, meanwhile, says we’re in the “11th Hour.”

No wonder that while Islamic terrorism claims lives by the thousands every year, Hollywood churns out movies about the menace of Joe McCarthy, the Crusaders, Israeli Mossad and Richard Nixon. Freud called it displacement.

Let’s be honest: people fixate on the environment when they can’t deal with real threats. Combating the climate gives the non-hawks a chance to look tough. They figure, “Let’s flex our muscle with this Mother Nature thing. Let’s take a preemptive strike at an SUV. Let’s show ‘em we can be tough too.”
Ooooo! Show us your muscles - take you hats off!

Fun with prize prat Laurie David

Laurie David, Swamp Killer

Curmudgeon:
Not only has Laurie David, ("Seinfeld" creator) Larry David's wife, been active in organizing the creative community against President Bush, she is an enviro-wacko who " lectures others about the evils of SUVS and the redemptive power of energy saving light bulbs." While it's become commonplace to discover how hypocritical these Hollywood nincompoops invariably are, it's nevertheless a delicious snack.
Details here, but the tastiest part is that the reason that Laurie and Larry got in all sorts of ecoweenie trouble was that they were spiffing up their mansion for the visit "of a VIP guest, National Resources Defense Council champion Robert Kennedy Jr.—the man who first introduced Laurie David to environmental activism at an L.A. breakfast seminar in 1997." Sheesh, all you need to do to host that goofball is just lay in a little smack and hide the breakables.

Zsa Zsa blog alert!

Arianna Huffington describes her operative philosophy

Zsa Zsa launched her big blog extravaganza today. And yes, it's the expected snoozefest unless you've got a powerful passion for the spicy one's ego trips and her cast of whingeing pals. Even the "Drudge style" headlines are lame. I wonder who financed this boat anchor?

Best comment so far is from Michelle Malkin:
Pssst, did you hear? Arianna Huffington's new celebrity/grass-roots/pundit elite/progressive/whatever blog launches today. I'm informing you because, as the Huffers tell us, those evil, corporatist media meanies don't allow enough little voices to be heard. As Hollywood moonbat-turned-Huffington blogger Laurie David crowed: "The Huffington Post is going to balance the power out there that the media has had forever."

Hmmm. Now, where did I read David's statement? Oh, yeah, in the forever right-wing-controlled Washington Post. Which devoted its Style front-page to The Huffington Post and covered it ad nauseam.
Ah, it's the ole Err America gambit - if you get enough big media suckups to boost it, an audience might show up. Lotsa luck with that. Zzzzzzz's for Zsa Zsa.

UPDATE: (Via Drudge) Nikki Finke has the inside scoop on the blowsy bimbo's blovatron. My choice for best graf:
Forgive them, these bleating blowhards on Arianna's blog, because they know not what they do. Not Seinfeld has-been Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her untalented TV-hyphenate husband, Brad Hall, making unfunny shtick of the anti-gay-marriage movement. Not has-been director Mike Nichols, using the forum to parade his high school grasp of U.S. history by mentioning "de Tocqueville" and "Dr. King" in the same paragraph. Not has-been brat-packer John Cusack, penning the 459,308th remembrance of Hunter Thompson for the sole purpose of letting the world know that the actor scored an invite to the writer's intimate memorial service. Still, the celebs aren't to blame here, because they made the bad mistake of allowing Arianna to sweet-talk them into believing that they had something to say in the first place. ("I was very moved, for example, by what Mike Nichols sent," Huffington told Newsweek. "It was just such a beautiful expression of his thinking." Arianna must have been swooning over the fact that Nichols is married to Diane Sawyer, because it can't possibly be over the director's bombastic blog b.s.)
But there's a whole lot more by following the link.

It's the Hollyweirdos again!

TV Shows Take On Bush, and Pull Few Punches
WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 31 — Galvanized politically in ways they have not been since the early 1990's, Hollywood's more liberal producers and writers are increasingly expressing their displeasure with President Bush with not only their wallets, but also their scripts.

In recent weeks, characters in prime time have progressed beyond the typical Hollywood knocks against Washington politicians to calling out the president directly or questioning his policies, including the decision to go to war in Iraq, the support of the antiterrorism law and the backing of a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

On the NBC show "Whoopi," the hotelier played by Whoopi Goldberg delivered an anti-Bush screed when the president, played by a lookalike, appeared at her establishment to use the facilities. "I can't believe he's in there doing to my bathroom what he's done to the economy!" she said.

One of the wise-cracking detectives on the NBC show "Law & Order," played by Jesse L. Martin, referred to the president as the "dude that lied to us." The character went on to say, "I don't see any weapons of mass destruction, do you?" His cantankerous partner, played by Jerry Orbach, retorted that Saddam Hussein did have such weapons because the president's "daddy" sold them to a certain someone "who used to live in Baghdad."

But the season finale of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on HBO arguably best conveyed the growing sentiment. On that episode, the main character, played by the comedian Larry David, backed out of a dalliance sanctioned by his wife after noticing that his prospective paramour had lovingly displayed a picture of Mr. Bush on her dresser.
Now there's a plot line for you - "backed out of a dalliance sanctioned by his wife." By the way, ole Larry David is the "nincompoop" boy from the Lurch Hollywood fundraiser the other day.
"I have never, ever seen this community more united than right now, never," said Laurie David, Mr. David's wife, who has been active in organizing the creative community against Mr. Bush. "Not a day goes by when I'm not getting a dozen calls from people saying to me, `What can I do?'
Laurie could try shoving it up her ventral orifice, but things might be kind of tight with her head already there.
Mr. Graham said the anti-Bush sentiment coming across in prime time was more troublesome than usual because it was woven into scripts across so many of the major networks, and not restricted to sketch comedy.

"It's different when you're really involved in `NYPD Blue' or `Law & Order,' and to you it's, `That's my man Sipowicz and he doesn't like Bush,' " Mr. Graham said. "This can be seen, and certainly is seen, by conservatives as Hollywood's in-kind contribution to the Kerry campaign."
Which is exactly what it is.
